Mikaela Knapp was a strong contributor to our team with her enthusiasm and passion for public relations. She started with Spark as an intern in 2011 and was quickly promoted to a full-time position as Account Coordinator, working in both our San Francisco and Los Angeles offices. A true Sparkster, Mikaela was energetic, ambitious, and would light up a room when she walked in. Her colleagues and clients loved her.
In October 2013, Mikaela was diagnosed with stage four kidney cancer, and sadly lost her battle in April 2014. As a way to way to keep her spirit alive at Spark, we have named our Internship Program after Mikaela.
Our Internship Program is designed for candidates who have already received their bachelor’s degree and are looking to immerse themselves in the fast-paced world of technology public relations. We look for individuals that are driven, creative, hard-working and have excellent communication skills. We hire interns in January, May, and September.
Our four-month paid program allows motivated participants to roll their sleeves up and truly experience public relations across a multitude of industries within the technology space. Interns become full-fledged team members and get to participate on client calls, team meetings, and brainstorm sessions. For stellar candidates, there is also a possibility of full-time hire at the completion of the program.
